A beautiful woman, with no memories of her past, is found naked in Times Square with her body fully covered in intricate tattoos. Her discovery sets off a vast and complex mystery that immediately ignites the attention of the FBI, which begins to follow the road map on her body into a larger conspiracy of crime, while bringing her closer to discovering the truth about her identity.
Jane Doe is found in Times Square with no memory and mysterious tattoos on her body.
OK, so, first thing's first: I absolutely loved the show in its first season. It was so intriguing and it held my interest -- so much so I watched the whole first season in less than a week. Each tattoo lead to a new mystery. It was such a fun storyline.
Then season two happened . . . All I could think was: what in the world am I watching? It was a complete waste of my time. I kept watching in hopes the show would get better. It didn't.
Fast forward to season 3 guess what!!! Jane's tattoos glow in the dark!!!
I've had enough of this. I don't understand how a show could start out so well only to end up so cheesy and ridiculous. I couldn't believe it.
The fact that this show is still going is appalling. I don't understand it. NBC needs to kill it with fire. Now. It should have ended at season 1, honestly. Would have made a good ending. Better to end on a high-note than to overstay your welcome. Because the ratings don't lie. By the end of season 1, the show lost half its viewing audience. It should have been canceled then and there.
I would have given "Blindspot" an 8.0/10 for season 1. But the show has turned into such a mess. I just cannot suspend disbelief. Because of season 1's quality, I'll give some credit, but a 3.1/10 is as good as it will get from me.
I saw the previews of this show and thought it looked promising. The lead male character reminded me of Antony Starr from Banshee, a show I also watch. So I had hopes that this could be a winner.
I watched both episodes available at the time of this review and I've decided to give up on this show.
The acting esp. of the male lead is terrible. Sullivan Stapleton desperately needs voice acting lessons. His "delivery" is completely off. From the flat and repetitive intonation pattern to the way he always breaks up his lines exactly the same way, with that breather pause right in the middle. There is just nothing there.
Jaimie (Jane Doe) is passable. The actor who plays Tasha, the other agent, looks too much like her. They should have cast a different type for this role, esp. when they appear together so often.
The "geek" girl is kinda meh, might grow on you. Same for the FBI boss.
The writing is wanting, too. With all the high tech stuff they have going on around Jane Doe, their very first failure was clearly on a human level. The way they "handled" Jane Doe is simply not realistic, esp. given her fragile mental state after all she's been through and having complete amnesia.
Oh well, can't all be winners. =)
At the time of this review, this show gets an unreal 8.1 rating. I don't see how it can sustain that, though.
