Having loved driving a 6MT in the E90 for the last 3 years, I am struggling with the concept of leaving it all up to the DCT. I find all However on a recent BMW driver training course the instructors were swearing by the DCT. The manual gearbox in the E92 M3 is one of the best if not the best I've driven.
The rapid-shifting, seven-speed automated manual is as quick as, but no quicker than, the base six-speed.

I found an absolutely perfect car with a manual gearbox, but I've convinced myself I want DCT even though I've never driven either. . I still love my manual M3 & wouldn't want the car without it, I will enjoy three pedals for as long as bmw offer themwhich won't be for much longer I would imagine. frown.

I went M DCT because I have not been very happy with BMW's recent manual transmission offerings though I do understand the F8x's are a lot better in this regard.I just sold my i drive 6 speed for 7 yrs and ultimately if i dont taste how differently a M powered 6 speed vs other 6 speed, its such a waste lol
Hi Iam posting this thread to get other peoples opinions on what is the better option for the new m3 and why. Would the dct make the m3 harder to tune in any way. All opinions welcome :)
