Uncharted 3 is perfectly in line with the previous two entries in the series. There are a few things that make this game feel different, though, and that isn’t necessarily good. I initially experienced some major glitches that were mostly resolved by playing on a different PS3 with a stock HDD. Even after that, this game lacked the last 1-2% of polish of its predecessors. I only mention this, because I hold the Uncharted series to a high production quality, and the rough stuff surprised me! I felt the gameplay focused more on chases, platforming, punching, and storytelling than Drake’s Fortune and Among Thieves while upping the difficulty of the gunplay. Those were my impressions, anyway. That being said, Drake’s Deception provides some of the best puzzles, cinematic cut-scenes, and engaging levels I’ve ever played, even if they weren’t until later in the game. Two words: ship graveyard. I may have sounded picky, but what else can you do with AAA titles? If you like cinematic storytelling in your games, Uncharted 3 is a must-play!
