If you haven’t played Twilight Princess by now, it’s probably not your thing, but it has been on my mind lately. I liked so many things about this game. I think the water and air temples are the most epic Zelda dungeons ever. The addition of the spiked ball and spinner, while somewhat impractical, provided very welcome variety. The tool selection menu was pretty cool, too. The story was intriguing, the art style was spectacular, and while the graphics weren’t cutting edge, they weren’t bad. My favorite thing about Wind Waker was the pit of trials, so I was ecstatic to see it included here. I enjoyed the character Midna and most of my time as a wolf. The game isn’t perfect, though. I hated the bird/fruit game, the stupid marble balancing, and the missing classic mini-games, but the fishing was fantastic. Fortunately, the motion controls didn’t ruin the game like so many early Wii entries. Judging by the turn Zelda games are taking and how I’ve come to despise motion controls, this may have been my last Zelda. I’m glad I enjoyed it.
